Scottsdale Desert Retreat

Scottsdale, AZ

This home was designed to feel elevated and collected, but still relaxed and comfortable for everyday living. I wanted the interiors to have a quiet sense of luxury, with clean modern lines softened by warm woods, natural textures, layered neutrals and original art.

The open great room, dining and kitchen spaces were designed to feel connected without becoming repetitive. I used subtle shifts in tone, texture and scale to give each area its own personality while keeping the home cohesive. The darker office and library brings in a richer, more tailored feeling and creates a nice contrast to the lighter main living spaces.

Art was also an important part of the project. I worked closely with my client to source, curate and commission original artwork and artisan pieces, with many sourced locally. Those pieces gave the home personality and helped it feel collected over time rather than simply furnished.

Because the home is in North Scottsdale, the connection to the outdoors was equally important. Natural materials, desert light and easy transitions to the exterior living spaces help the interiors feel grounded in their setting.

The result is warm, modern, personal and distinctly Arizona.
