3 Fabulous Custom Features for Your Home Renovation or New Build

Several great features can take your home from basic to uniquely custom while creating spaces that make your ideal lifestyle more manageable and more enjoyable. Creating specialty niche areas provides high style and function.

Today, I’m sharing 3 custom features that will elevate your home…

1. Custom Built-Ins for Organization & Styling

Built-ins are a fabulous option for organization, storage, functionality, and drama. They also create a statement in spaces that otherwise may go underutilized. The beauty of built-ins is that you can add them to just about any room in your home!

Mix and match vases, frames, books, plants, and accessories for the bedroom and living room to create a layered shelf. In the kitchen, make a coffee bar/beverage station. For the bathroom, create a mini-spa nook to neatly display towels, fancy soaps, real or faux plants, shower gels, scrubs, and candles.

2. A Spacious Walk-In Pantry

Kitchen cupboards and countertops only offer so much room. A walk-in pantry is great for storage more than just for food items. You can store small appliances, bulky pots and pans, baking trays, cookbooks, clear stackable food storage containers, and household supplies with the extra space.

Add a lazy Susan or two to easily access spice jars, cooking oils, and smaller bottles that can easily get lost on a jam-packed shelf. If you’re fortunate enough to have a spacious pantry, consider going big by adding another sink and calling it a butler's pantry! Check out 3 Ways to Expand Storage Durning a Kitchen Renovation.

3. A Built-In Beverage Fridge

A built-in beverage fridge outside the kitchen is all the rage these days, even if you don't drink wine! This easily accessible solution is excellent for storing drinks and cold snacks while helping keep guests and kids out of the kitchen.

It also can provide additional storage during the holidays that might otherwise cram your kitchen refrigerator. Remember to ensure that it has the adequate storage capacity to meet your household and entertaining needs.
